📸 Portrait Photography Men Style Guide
Welcome
Thank you for choosing Stancorpuz Photography for your portrait session. Whether this session celebrates a career milestone, builds your personal brand, or is simply for you, we aim to create portraits that reflect your authenticity, confidence, and unique presence. This guide is designed to help you feel calm, prepared, and completely yourself in front of the camera.
What to Expect
Before the Session: We’ll start with a conversation about what you want: the feel, location, and wardrobe ideas. I’m happy to help you choose outfits or suggest styles that align with your goals.
During the Session: Expect a mix of directed poses and natural, candid moments. We’ll focus on flattering angles and expressions that feel real. Duration is typically 60-90 minutes.
After the Session: You’ll get your professionally edited gallery within 1-2 weeks, with high-resolution digital images. You’ll also have options for prints, albums, or extra retouching if desired.
Wardrobe Guidelines
Color Palette
Go for solid tones or subtle patterns. Jewel tones, earth tones, neutrals all photograph well.
Avoid bright neons, large logos, or prints that draw attention away from your face.
Fit & Form
Choose clothing that fits well — not too tight, not too loose. Structured items (a blazer, well-cut shirt, nice trousers) help create a clean, polished silhouette.
If you have a go-to jacket or coat that reflects you, that’s great to include.
Fabrics & Texture
Fabrics with texture (wool, linen, cotton blends, fine knits) add depth and interest in photos.
Avoid overly shiny synthetics that catch light in unflattering ways.
Versatility
Bring 2-3 outfit options:
  1. Something classic (think blazer, clean shirt, trousers)
  2. Something a bit more relaxed or personality-driven
  3. One option that shows a different style or vibe (if you’re comfortable), so your gallery has variety.
Grooming & Details
Hair should be clean, trimmed, styled in a way that feels like you. Bring a comb or product for touch-ups.
If you have facial hair, shape/trim a day or two beforehand so it looks tidy and intentional.
Moisturizer helps with texture; if you have oily skin, maybe a light powder or blotting is helpful.
Nails clean + trimmed.
Consider bringing sunglasses or glasses (if you wear them). Clean lenses and minimal glare help.
Accessories & Personal Items
Keep accessories minimal unless a statement piece is part of your style. (Watch, subtle bracelet, belt that matches shoes, etc.)
Shoes should coordinate/clean, especially if they'll show.
Bring something personal if it means something to you: a hat, watch, musical instrument, hobby-related item, or a prop that tells your story.
If outdoors, bring layers or options (jacket, sweater) so you can change mood/look
